CCI New Staff Announcements
Cannabis Compliance Inc (CCI) is the leading global compliance firm in the regulated cannabis sector, providing licensing, due diligence, education and training to cultivators, educators and resellers.
CCI is excited to announce many leading roles taking our company into the next stage in our growth. Brian Wagner continues to have the position as Chief Executive Officer, while the growth and execution of our plans rests with our new President, Todd Masse. Todd has a demonstrated track record in architecting success in fast-growth environments. Until recently, Todd was the VP of Sales & Marketing with Steeped Tea, one of Canada’s fastest growing consumer companies making the Profit 500 list four years in a row. Also, recently Todd led the sales and marketing of Foodie, and prior to this was the Managing Director (Canada) of Just Eat – one of the fastest growing service companies in Canada, growing the business from 66x over three years and leading a staff of 100 employees. Todd’s extensive background in consumer packaged goods before this, as well as his strong growth expertise, will prove an invaluable asset in growing CCI internationally in the year ahead.
In the last month, we have also welcomed Sid Hathiramani as our Chief Financial Officer (CPA/CA). Prior to joining CCI, Sid was Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis with Global Container Terminals Canada for three years. Prior to GCT he held a similar position, with Maple Leaf Foods ($4.4bn annual sales), the largest food manufacturer in Canada. With a strong background in financial assurance services, tax, financial planning and due diligence, Sid supports the CEO in the company’s financial planning.
In August, CCI is also welcoming Ken McCormack as Vice-President of Marketing. Prior to joining CCI, Ken was General Manager of Operations with Premium Foods a large food manufacturer in Canada. Ken has also demonstrated his marketing and vertical sales development for companies such as Valeant Canada, Health First Network and Associated Brands. Ken’s strong expertise in vertical market development will play an essential role within CCI in developing our education, training and corporate identity across various channels both within Canada and globally.
Leading our GMP and Certifications initiatives is Dr. Olga Radocaj, also having joined CCI in in the last month. Olga holds a Ph.D. in food technology in hemp/cannabis, has published around 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles, and has been working in director-level quality assurance positions within the consumer packaged goods sector. Olga is an ASQ-Certified HACCP Auditor, and holds certifications across numerous fields in food quality assurance and auditing. Olga was recruited to CCI to develop our leading “GMP” standards in the cannabis field, which will lead the global cannabis industry to cultivate and manufacture cannabis products to the highest standards. Prior to joining CCI, Olga was the Senior Director of Quality Assurance with Give and Go Prepared Foods, a global provider of baked and frozen, desert type snacks, leading the QA team across eight facilities in North America and achieving GFSI standards successfully over eight years. CCI is anticipating the global demand for cannabis finished products, especially edibles, in the years to come, and will play a key role in compliance in these areas.
Leading our pharmaceutical cannabis services division is Karina Lahnakoski (B.Sc., MBA, PMP), who has 18 years experience in the bio/pharmaceutical and medical device industries. The medical cannabis industry is expected to diverge from the so-called “adult-use” cannabis industry in the years to come, where medical cannabis will conform to more pharmaceutical standards of manufacturing, dosage forms and potentially product licensing. Karina plays a fundamental role in helping CCI bridge the gap between mainstream pharmaceutical industries and the emerging cannabis industry. Currently Karina manages our team of ACMPR regulatory-quality consultants providing licensing, auditing and corporate training services in Canada. Prior to joining CCI, Karina was Director of Quality for Dalton Pharmaceutical Services, a leading pharma company in Canada, overseeing their regulatory and quality assurance programs. Prior to Dalton, Karina held various senior positions including those with CPL, Amorfix Life Sciences, Patheon, GSK and Baxter.
As part of our strategic growth plans within the education space, CCI is excited to welcome two academic curriculum employees to lay the groundwork for our academic courses (launching in the spring of 2018). Jim Pelton (M.Sc., MBA) has joined CCI as the Executive Director of Training Services, having recently exited from Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) where he was responsible for developing instructor-based, online courses in the cannabis sector. Jim has an extensive background in education development for institutions such as KPU and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Supporting Jim in the company’s education development goals is Shannon Kloet (M.Ed.), Director of Training Services. Shannon spent the last 22 years with Kwantlen Polytechnic University out of Vancouver, British Columbia, and has an extensive background in student registration, course development and student/instructor communication. Together, Jim and Shannon are developing our instructor-based, rigorous online courses in cannabis education across various sectors, whereby CCI will provide practical micro-credential training to the emerging global cannabis workforce.
CCI is committed to providing its consulting, advisory, training and education services within the compliance space, to bring the emerging global cannabis industry into a new era. With a head office opening in Toronto in the months ahead, CCI has an impeccable reputation for compliance and training. Our vision is to ensure full compliance and training, which will reduce corporate risk – and raise cannabis to a higher level of credibility in the world. CCI is a privately held company and is one of the most successful cannabis ventures in this emerging industry.
